I got to work directly with the author to bring her book to life. She told me she wanted "A cosmic background, stock NASA or even photos that are stock from the recent offerings from the James Webb telescope. A superimposed, almost transparent sundial." But she was also willing to consider other ideas.

We worked through a few versions before finally settling on the final one with the cosmic background + clouds but without the sundial!
